Re: Texas Spring 2016
That little notch near haslet is likely the cause for the warning

70mph wind gusts and ping pong hail for the severe thunderstorm warning going on at the same time

My sister in Lewisville called and I could hear the hail hitting her house. She said her across the street neighbor saw ping pong size hail

You go through one of these hailstorms you'll never want to go through again. But yeah reflectivity is high in southern Collin county.

The southern Collin county storm is heading right for me. I'm 1 mile from the Collin line in northern Rockwall county.

Re: Texas Spring 2016
Lots of wind, rain up here along the river. Most of the big hail went on the north side of Lake Texoma and into Durant where it pretty well covered the ground.
Heard a report of baseball size hail (as per Steve LaNore, KXII TV met) on Hwy 377 at Willis Bridge (western Texoma, where the highway crosses into Oklahoma). Also a LOT of wind damage up near Tishomingo. Front of the Subway sandwich shop completely blew in.
About 1.06 inches of rain in Durant and .38 here in Denison/Sherman.

I've seen them buzzing around in circles on their backs up here too. Time to get some grub worm killer.

Not too much rain at my house this morning. Probably less than half an inch. Saw something that really raised my spirits when I got to the office today. The first June bug of the summer! Hot weather isn't far off now!

They have been active up here in NW Harris County for about a month. Also seeing some mosquitos after all the rainfall last week. Emptied almost .80 inches out of the rain gauge this morning.

Re: Texas Spring 2016
El Nino is fading away. The ocean depths are now getting cold for the impending La Nina

DFW's two years (1906,1973) with no 100's were El Nino-La Nina transition years. Cherry pick
Unsure of how this effects the weather pattern as there really isn't much to go by but the northern latitudes, NPAC and NATL have cooled considerably while the tropical regions remain warm.

1983 March is actually not too bad a fit compared to others. Very solid match in the North Pacific

Re: Texas Spring 2016
Observations from Richardson and Murphy today:
- The hail core past right over this area(75/Bush)
- Trees stripped of leaves and small branches
- Still hail leftover in shaded spots, and on the netting at the outdoor section at Lowe's in Murphy
- Seen at least 3 dead birds, probably from the ice missiles
- Based on size of dimples in the mud at work, appears to be at least golf ball sized. If you play golf, you know the size they make on the greens.
- Glad I don't live around here and/or had my car outside.
