Guys... Pensacola Florida gets more snow than any part of Texas on the 0z Euro.



So FWD did a piece on how similar 15-16 is to 57-58... and it's kind of eerie, yall were touching on it earlier but...

Spring 1958 is the coldest on record at DFW... and April recorded over 8 inches of rain..

Well the first week of Feb did manage 3 freezes at DFW and the avg ended up 0.7F which isn't too bad. The warmth first two days didn't stretch out, it was mostly below normal up until yesterday. It will be above normal this week after today though.

Still hoping for a last minute touchdown late month or March. It only takes one as the tropical folks likes to say.

Not showing anything exciting for the foreseeable future. Been in Leakey all weekend and we hit 23.1F on weather station in the front yard. Felt every bit like 23F as well. Beautiful weather though, at least there is something we can be happy about during this miserable winter.

Yeah, looks like 12-14" around Atlanta next Sun/Mon on the 12Z Euro. A very cold next couple of weeks across the eastern U.S., but not even a freeze for Texas over the next 10 days (outside of the Panhandle). Some mid to upper 70s by next Wednesday from Dallas to Houston. Nice! Oh, and big surprise, the 12Z GFS dropped the snow across Texas at hours 372 and 384.

I recognized it (the sarcasm). It is hard to convey electronically/written. Sarcasm is all I see lately (aside from barely freezing mornings with some frost, warmer afternoons, and dry weather).

For the record, I ALWAYS value and appreciate your expertise.

No freezes between Dallas & Houston in the 21Z Euro, though it does have some mid 70s next Wednesday. With all the cold air draining off into the NE U.S. over the next week or two, that may just be the end of any winter weather chances across NE and east TX. On the other hand, the 12Z GFS 500mb flow does indicate a building west coast ridge. Though that air is mostly of Pacific origin (across the Gulf of Alaska), I do see some cross-Polar flow that could mix in some Arctic air, and that air would be directed southward rather than southeastward across Canada.

Of course, the usual caveats about not trusting the GFS beyond about 72 hours apply. Here's the 348hr panel. Note the phasing of the northern and southern streams occurring over Saskatchewan.
