Does Your Sleep Position Match Your Personality?
When it comes time to turn out the lights and get some shut-
eye, everyone has their own preferred position in which they
sleep. Some like to curl up in the fetal position underneath
a mound of blankets. Others lie flat on their backs, arms at
their sides like mummified drill sergeants. And though you may
not think much of your sleeping style, one researcher thinks
it speaks volumes.
Professor Chris Idzikowski, director of the Sleep Assessment
and Advisory Service in England, has identified the meaning
of six common sleep positions in regards to one's personality.
For instance, Idzikowski claims that those who sleep in the
fetal position, namely 51 percent of women, tend to be shy and
sensitive. Those who lay flat on their backs with arms at their
sides are often quiet and reserved.
Those who are more social and easy-going tend to sleep on their
sides with arms down, while more suspicious folks have their
arms outstretched. If you sleep on your stomach, which only
pertains to about 6.5 percent of people, you are most likely
brash and like to be in groups. And, finally, if you lay on
your back with outstretched arms and legs, you're a good
listener.
Professor Idzikowski identified the positions by comparing
personality traits of people with their preferred way of
sleeping. Do you think his theory holds true? Do these
personality traits match up with the way you sleep?

Doesn't describe me at all. These usually do... I am surprised. I like to sleep on my belly, too. I hate to be in large groups and I don't think I am brash.

i sleep on my back, sides, head, upside down, etc., etc. i think it means i am a restless soul to begin with. the worst is when you awake with one of those mindnumbing godawful leg cramps... OUCH!!! i hate those things; likewise, when you wake up and your arm is asleep because you had it wrapped around your neck like a wet noodle whereby it just dangles as such... p

ROFL, Pawlee!!! I've had both...the leg cramps and the sleeping arm! I don't know what's worse. I'd have to say the leg cramp. You rub it, massage it, and beat it with your fist trying to relax that tight muscle. And it seems to take forever!!! You grunt and groan and almost can't breathe until finally it begins to relax and the pain subsides but now your chest hurts because you were in such a state of panic and holding your breathe for so long.
Gosh, I'm glad I'm not alone on that or on the arm thing. Do you ever panic when you wake up with a "dead" arm and wonder to yourself, "Oh God, I've done it this time. My arm won't work! It's not coming back!" It looks twice as big as usual. You hang it over the bed and it just swings there. You feel nothing and yet you can stare at your hand and make your fingers close. But you think, "Whose arm is that? I don't feel MINE moving. But there in front of me is a hand...moving." Then gradually, needles are piercing every inch of your skin and you realize it's coming back to live. A burst of cold shoots through your limb and eventually it feels warm and alive again.
ROFLMAO!

I'm like Perry. I sleep on my side, usually with my right arm under the pillow and my other one on my left side. I've slept like this for almost 20 years now since my wife was pregnant with out second child and always wanted to cuddle up to my back(don't know why). And yes I am generally very laid back, but you don't want to get me riled!!!

When I go to bed I generally position myself any number of ways; generally on my back mostly or my stomach.
I woke up with a numb arm last week. Boy, how annoying.
