It could be just as bad in Haiti and the Dominican Republic as to what occured in Dominica. Plus, Erika's remnants still are to come and effect the Florida peninsula in the days to come. So, when it is all said and done, Erika's deadly wake and massive flooding imo makes her a very good candiate for retirement, the same way I felt about Fay in 2008.
Here is a report from the Dominican Republic and it looks like what happened in Puerto Rico occurred there as the center did not made it inland in that country and that track caused less rainfall than expected and little damage occurred.
I live in the capital city of Santo Domingo. Currently the weather is clear and its business as usual in the DR. Yesrerday Erika passed causing minor damages because of the wind. There was little rain and no flooding, at least not in Santo Domingo. I have not heard of any major damages reported in any other city in the DR. We insure most of the hotels in the DR and have not received, up to now, any reports of major incidents.
