Yeah, had the wife, dog, kid, phone, and weather radio. The radar fritzed out on the phone when the central austin warning was going on. So had to go to the NWS to see the current warnings and listen to radio. I don't know how people do it in Oklahoma!
Our entire backyard was standing water, up near door back porch. Never seen water in grass by back porch in the 9 years I have been here. I have emptied the rain gauge several times (measures to 6 inches) overy the past month (not 6 inches every time). I have lost count.
Lake Travis is looking better!
Lake Travis will be 75% by next week at this rate! We need water in Buchanan.
We got another .10, so all told our back yard has seen 18" of rain since I started keeping track on the 5th of May. The far end of our yard had actual running water. I knew that happened, I've seen it before because it goes to a dry creek. But we had standing water and running water halfway up the hill to our house. Crazy. And are they still talking tropical system? I feel like we just had a tropical system go thru!
Not sure. Had not heard since yesterday about the tropical system. Maybe Buchanan can get some of that. Buchanan is slowly rising.
I know! Feels like all of these storms have been tropical systems. I am AMAZED at the amount of water these thunderstorms have been producing! El Nino Pacific connection adding mid and high level moisture for the storms to tap into. Amazing how quickly multi-year low lake levels change in a matter of weeks/days!
