Sleet had lightened up a bit Here at the moment but it will pick back up shortly. I could easily see us getting another 1" QPF so that will be a lot of sleet and snow, it does not seem like we will get much freezing rain as it is already mostly sleet.

There are some big time storms popping up namely the one near Waco. Overall it appears that banding is setting up over Central Texas moving northeast. I really am doubting SHV leaving me with just an advisory for. Light icing and a half inch of snow and sleet. The first little burst earlier already got us enough for our advisory and that was nothing compared to what is coming. I love these storms, but with a newborn baby at home I hope it doesn't get too bad.

DFW measured 2.5 inches of snow as of midnight (probably 3-4 by now). 5 inches in Grapevine, 4 inches in Euless Per NWS FW twitter. These are all locations immediately sharing boundaries with the big airport.

Who knows, maybe another inch before it ends. Crazy.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtFhvobJxYU <--- short video I filmed when it was just getting started. I can't even see the street anymore. The curbs are now covered in snow. Crazy how fast this stuff is sticking, and it's still coming down.
Anyway, time for some much needed sleep. Be safe everyone! And remember, this will all be out of here by 4am, and sunshine returns around noon. No big deal, right?

I thought we were done in Sherman but it's coming down again and radar is filling in a bit. It was crazy earlier. The air was thick with big nickel-sized flakes and blowing hard. I can't believe how fast the yard covered up. I'm guessing we got at least 3" snow on top of the sleet. I'll measure in the morning.

The last round of precip to move through Austin is again not of the frozen variety, which means I have to be up for work in 3 hours.

Nothing that SouthernMet posts, is an official forecast, nor does it reflect views of STORM2K.. SouthernMet is just adding to the great discussions on STORM2K.. Refer to NWS for official forecasts.

We'll probably see highs bust again as they have for a good week. The March sun will probably melt the roads but if we stay close to freezing there may be enough to hang around a little bit.
