You won't see anything today. Expect "Arthur" to cross the Outer Banks Thursday night, quite likely as a Cat 1 hurricane. It'll be moving quickly by then, so the weather should clear out during the day on the 4th.

All systems go for soon to be Arthur ramping up today. Conditions appear ideal for the next few days.
My cousin & his family are vacationing this week in the OBX. I told him to keep an eye on the local news.

Center appears to be separating from the convection. At 27.9N/79.1W. Movement is to the NNW. Can't tell if this is one of several eddies or the single center.

A cloudy morning here in South Florida this morning. Does anyone think we might get some rain bands later in the day from Tropical Depression 1? The new center that formed further west will allow the storm to go out to sea only have some high surf. Just an opinion not a forecast.

you never know with these systems where a band might setup but this cloud shield certainly wont be helping matters if its convection you are looking for south of palm beach...seas were very quiet at the beach a couple of hours ago as in flat

consistent west wind too so we can forget about anything sea breeze induced...keep your eyes to the NNW for anything brewing today

Looking healthy this morning with convection now building over the center in my opinion.

Live visible loop, speed up for best effect: http://wwwghcc.msfc.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/get-goes?satellite=GOES-E%20CONUS&lat=28&lon=-80&info=vis&zoom=1&width=1000&height=800&quality=95&type=Animation&palette=ir1.pal&numframes=25&map=latlon

A gold star to NHC's James Franklin for not writing TS Arthur advisories yesterday afternoon - at present TD1 looks disorganized at best (my opinion only) with only one large thunderstorm between West Palm Beach and Grand Bahama Island at this time...

Frank

P.S. I didn't see Mark's opposing post above - we are in two camps : )

Nags Head here. Interesting 0z to 6z run on GFS a bit stronger. And right on top of us. Euro 0z almost exactly the same as the GFS. Of course both will change, but now both in agreement. Sure wish that would happen with congress.
