It's looking like the PWC might actually see some rain. Development to the West of Austin headed his way. *fingers crossed*

Euro has a line of storms coming into central Texas tomorrow. Then MCS coming down from the north out of Oklahoma crossing NTX, CTX, to SE TX later this weekend. GFS is weak with all of the above.
Some more good news, the latest PDO index is out and it continues to rise at +1.13. Highest reading since 04-05. Pretty amazing to see what's going on when you look due south of Texas. You never realize how close we are to the epicenter of these big El Nino/La Nina events to our region until one is happening, no wonder they have such a big influence on us.

Nothing fell in most of Austin. Far north Austin and weatherdude's area in Pflugerville got some rain. The desertification of Austin continues unabated.

Latest drought map. The Panhandle, the South Plains, and the Hill Country are dying.

Perhaps a rain dance is in order.

EDIT: Porta, you should make this your avatar until you get out of that nasty drought!

Sorry to hear you missed out Porta. I hope the Niño brings you copious amounts of rain.
For NTX folks, here's Steve McCauleys update:

Nice ending to a saturated day !
T-storms will return to the southeast half of north Texas on Friday (SE of a line from Paris-Dallas-Hamilton). T-storms will return to MOST of north Texas next Monday, and that one, too, looks to be a drought denter.
Stay tuned...

0.85 inches in about 40 minutes here. Grande total of 0.90 inches today at the Weatherdude Center.
. Went from having soil cracks to having standing water where the cracks were yesterday. Still have standing water in backyard 2 hours after it ended. Crazy stuff!

That flat out sucks. I watched the KGRK radar, and it was dejavu of what happens to me all the time. I'm still in disbelief of what happened here today. We probably ended up close to 4" today.
Now I've got to send my Davis Vantage Pro II back and get it fixed. It recorded 0.17 - wayyyyyyyyyyy off.

Did any of that heavy rainfall fall into Lavon's basin? I'm unfamiliar with the drainage basins, but if that much rain fell, I sure hope some of it makes its way to Lavon. If anyone more savvy with the hydrological data than myself would share a link you have on hand for water-level changes in Lavon or other lakes from today's rainfall it'd be much appreciated.

Somewhat Off-Topic:
I know we tend to use meteograms more during the winter months, but this past winter, I had taken Wxman57's meteogram tutorial, and then experimented somewhat. He supplied me with a meteogram w/ 850mb temps for the short range GFS and instructions on how to properly do it. I then altered the long range GFS meteogram to include 850mb temps as well. I also altered the meteogram to create one for the 84hr NAM. Here is my post with the links to download the spreadsheets from and linking the directions to do so properly (unfortunately in an image format). All credit goes to Wxman57 and his colleague. I simply altered a couple of the sheets and directions he provided for our community.

I recorded 3.25" at my place. It was blinding as I drove to my friend's to watch the draft.

Some of it fell over the Lavon Basin, but most of it did not. Lavon has seen a rise of a few inches so far. Here's a link to river/lake info:
