Heh, it was 74 degrees when I woke up this morning here in Austin. It's now 44 degrees with heavy thunderstorms.

Gotta love Texas spring weather! We have been fortunate to pick up about 4/10" of rain at the PWC this morning.

I'll have to check my gauge when I get home. There was 0.04 in it when I left. We have had a couple power outages at work with loud crashes of thunder. :lightning: It was coming down really nicely! :rain: :D I'm sure we had at least a half an inch. Been a while since I have seen that much! This whole Winter, I seriously don't think I recorded more than a tench of an inch of rain/water equivalent (ice events) at a time. One of the driest, if not, the driest Winter seasons on record. Yeah, we're desperate for moisture around these parts! Bring on more Spring rains!

The NWS ( not that the ladies and gentlemen of the NWS are really blind. They are great folks) must be blind because they are showing 47F and raining.

Seems like an April Fool's joke here tonight.

NWS has now dropped forecasted low to 27 degrees in Sherman/Denison.

That's unreal.

Really good rains here, unfortuantely, my rain gauge no longer works on my new weather center. Best bet would be just under an inch. It was coming down pretty good for a bit.

My house on the northside of SA got .20 inch of rain today. Not bad, but unfortunately a heavier cell went just north and south of my area. Would have liked more, but as always I'm thankful for whatever I can get. Here in College Station I got over .50 inch of rain today. I already miss the warm temperatures.

Mid 80s here in Orlando for the National Hurricane Conference. Unfortunately, the front arrives here tomorrow night and it's mid to lower 50s for Wed AM with highs only in the mid 70s.

:cold: As of 2:55 a.m., Fort Worth NWS says we officially hit the freezing mark in Denison/Sherman with a reading of 32 degrees.

This ties April 15, 1928 (when it hit 29 degrees) as the latest freeze ever recorded in Denison/Sherman.

By my count, this is the 59th freeze of the 2013/14 season and the sixth consecutive month that we have seen temperatures of freezing or below in D-Town.

Having to blast my car heater in mid April is not right! I hit 34F this morning.

Generally guidance is leaning towards retreat of North American cold air the last week of April, must get through this week. Warmer air mass will be building in the southwest/nw MX and progress e/ne. A baja trough will also be emerging as its been consistent showing up. Hopefully this becomes the dominant pattern for rains.
