That sounds ominous. I don't think I will look SW.

Quite a light show to my southwest, hearing frequent thunder with light rain starting to fall with a temperature of 41!

Good info to see ... thanks. Definitely worrisome ... by the way ... my earlier reference to freezing rain as "fun" -- the word was put in quotes for a reason. I hate ice storms. Was a sarcastic reference. So I'd rather not have that 4 1/2" you're wishing on Austin. I'd rather have the omega block.

That HRRR link is showing cumulative, not by the hour precipitation, right? .5" total in certain areas of CTX and SETX through 15hrs?

I believe EWX took note of the latest model trends as well ... they just upped icing totals in the warned areas (Winter Storm Warning) up to .25" And whatever falls from here on out in Travis County will freeze as the entire county appears to be at or below freezing as of 11 p.m.

There... is a LOT of rain coming out of Mexico. Heck, us south of 59'ers may end up getting more rain overall!

BTW, for such a potentially major event we've heard boo about any closings in and around the Houston area. Is Austin/San Antonio also this blase? I know we had a few 'busts' this winter but this is starting to look like the real thing.

Can you expand that west, I really need the rain here. Only have .67" so far this year.

Same here. Really surprised that they did not at least delay openings in Georgetown.

Nope. Most of our local ISDs announced around 9 p.m. that they would delay opening tomorrow until 10 am. City government opening at 11. They all say they'll re-evaluate tomorrow morning early about if the delayed openings become daylong openings.

It is 29/30 in College Station (high was 32 today around 4pm) and there is a pretty hefty freezing rain falling. My driveway is just wet for now, but I don't think I'm going to be able to get into the car tomorrow. There is already about 1/10" ice on them.

ISDs are delayed already. Texas A&M shows no signs of delay as usual.

And to continue the theme so far this year, any type of precipitation continues to avoid my house in SA. This is beyond depressing now. Batch of precip went to the north this evening and now another one is going south. Unreal.
