Update at 5pm-40f and pouring rain at my house. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!! I am becoming concerned about what tomorrow morning will be like with the ULL coming through and the obvious copious amount of moisture still available with more off to the SW.

Glad y'all are getting it, sure wish we could have got some of what was forecasted. Major bust for se LA. Only a trace and nothing on the way. Gulf low already passing well south of us, nowhere close to where models had it going less than 24 hrs ago.

Saw a few snowflakes mixed in with the freezing drizzle in Wimberley last Sunday afternoon. Probably the only snow I'll see this year. LOL! I was enjoying the cold but I think I've enjoyed all I can stand of cold and wet now. Can't seem to get warm today even slaving over a hot stove. :cold:

It was at 529 Just West of hwy 6. My wife also saw some flakes coming home for lunch here in the Spring Branch area. I haven't seen one yet, but still holding out a little hope.

Looks like we will get more rain out of this ull moving in then we did yesterday and last night. Not expecting any winter precip unfortunately. Nws says sw counties of Mississippi and the northern fringes of the Florida parishes of se LA might see a little something if they stay up past midnight  But crap its cold out there. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come for us this winter, cold and active pattern. BTW tomorrow nights lows could break a lot of records. Hard freezes all around with low of 25 forecast. Can't remember last time it was this cold for thanksgiving.

It snowed hard near Lake Livingston for about 1 hour... Huge silver dollar flakes.. so nice... The earliest I can recall in my 50 years..

As the upper low moved over it dropped from 37 to 32 in 15 minutes.. It's back up to 39 now..

SE Texas Snow coming down hard..

Interesting that they have snow/sleet in the forecast for Lafayette but not in Baton Rouge. I guess I will keep an eye out, just to be safe.

I am very curious about the next possible outbreak. I am hearing big buzz. I just wonder if the record cold would make it to the coast or stay bottled up in the plains?

I'm not so sure that the forecast has it right, but that's just my thoughts. When is the next possible outbreak of which you speak?

HA! Good one CajunMama - I just don't see this happening. Interesting to see it on here though - I think that's the only place we'll see it (on here).

The Euro ensembles 10 day forecast has been showing some interesting stuff. Take a look into the Texas Fall thread and the Texas Winter Thread. Not sure how much of an effect it will have on us this far south but if it is going to be as cold as it predicts in the Plains then I suspect it has to also be quite a bit colder down this way, as well. They are talking temps 40 degrees below normal in the Plains. Of course, 10 days out is a ways and a ton can change.
