This is a historic day for the WPAC indeed. For sure, this is the best looking TC I've seen. The tropics have come a long way since August.

Tacloban should get more of a piece of the north eyewall than originally predicted. There's chasers there.

I wish meteorological agencies would have more coordination, we shouldn't have to rely on dvorak windspeed estimates when a storm is in proximity to doppler radar. It would be nice if the PH government published radar velocity data along with the DBZ data.

Latest radar, looks like ERC is out of the question in the near-term. Hope the cebu radar stays online throughout the duration of the storm.

We should all consider helping the recovery effort here. Save the Children has an A+ rating from CharityWatch.org and they set up a fund for Yolanda/Haiyan relief in the Philippines.

I am not a meteorologist, and any posts made by me are not official forecasts or to be interpreted as being intelligent. These posts are just my opinions and are probably silly opinions.

Per the chasers on icyclone on facebook:

6:30 am. Gusts getting violent-- flying tin and branches. Some gusts have an unearthly, feminine howl that gives me the creeps. 974.6 mb and falling. Might be my last update.
