Austin is now under a flood warning yet again till 7:30. Torrential rains are slamming already flooded areas and is making this dangerous situation worse. I'm having to prepare for more water coming into two rooms in my house.

My phone is popping with all kinds of flood warnings/advisories. Rain woke me around 3am. Fell asleep. Now 6am. Occasional thunder. Moderate rain mostly (I think). I haven't had a chance to check gauge. My rain sensor is intermittently working. Be safe JDawg512! Water will start to come into my garage if we get that kind of rain. The French drain gets overwhelmed. A LCRA gauge in Cedar Park north of me reported over 5 inches in the last 6 hours. 
I'll report when I find out later this morning how much we have gotten here at the Weatherdude Center. I just hope the lakes benefit!

We've had the most amount of water EVER in my house, two rooms completely covered with water that covered my feet. Its a horrible mess. I have yet to go to bed and I am exhausted. 9 inches have fallen here. The police scanner is just going non stop. South Austin was slammed. Barton Creek is last I heard around 13 feet. Flood stage is 8 feet. Is expected to rise even higher to a level not seen since 1981. From what I can hear Manchaca is closed at the Williamson Creek bridge.

Update:
Still raining moderately. Was able to go out with an umbrella and check gauge. Shows 4.5 inches since last night. My gauge goes to 5 inches. Had to empty it to collect more. No garage flooding. Usual standing Water in puddles in yard. My electronic rain sensor is only intermittently working. Not working now. Would be perfect to use that right now! Anyway, be safe out there! I'll update when I can.

Kvue reports word of evacuations in Sunset Valley/SW Austin area bullseyed with doppler est of 13in of rain. Be safe folks!

This is basically where the Portastorm Weather Center is located ... very close to where some of those evacuations took place. We've had about 11 1/4 inches of rain here in the last 12 hours. An absolutely amazing weather event which even surpasses the 8-inch event with TS Hermine back in 2010. Basically convection blossomed and literally didn't move much at all for most of the night.
I took a quick drive around the neighborhood this morning and see retention ponds nearly at full and dry creek beds turned into raging torrents of water.
What a night of weather. Wow!

Holy moly, crazy rain guys. Be careful what you wish for! Drizzling here now, hopefully we get a good rain to wash all the pollen away. Allergies are killing me (sinus'). Hopefully Travis got pounded too so we can work on that this winter

I checked my rain gauge this morning and we had more than the 5" it holds ... maybe 5.25 tp 5.5" I emptied it and it's still raining. Austin nr P'ville.
Lots of lightning and thunder last night. Dog is still freaked out.
Walked across the yard to the rain gauge and as I was walking the ground was sinking under my feet. Weird. Everything is saturated. We are not in a flood zone but there is a dry creek downhill from us.

Our dog was freaked out really bad too. Between him and the water leaks we didn't get much sleep last night.

Some amazing totals down there Portastorm, very impressive. No doubt it's the dirty work of the EPO. It's gone negative finally!!! Octave in the EPAC is going to send up more, it has nowhere to go but TX due to strong ridging to the north (courtesy of once again -EPO). North and west Texas will be getting wet tonight into tomorrow, same for central Texas.
Late euro looks interesting, first frost and freezes may be lurking.

Lake Travis has risen over a foot since yesterday at 3pm. Risen exactly a foot since 4:45 this morning (as of 2:45 pm).

Yow I hope you are able to get those leaks sorted out! We have a Thundershirt for our dog and it really helps. She is still nervous and clingy but not shaking.
It's still drizzling, but we were able to go for a walk. We saw snails without their shells all over the place. That was strange.
