Just walked outside to take dog out. I can blow steam! I know, it is 66 degrees with 91% humidity. But with the aroma of freshly watered Earth all around :ggreen: , I feel like Fall has officially started! :)

Mine is a 10K. They normally run it near Halloween, but I think due to the Racepark, he had to make it earlier.

It's October! Fall front this weekend will be a nice change, DFW will struggle to get above 70, Austin and Houston will be hard pressed to see 80. 30s dewpoints will probably dip lows into the 40s and 50s. More fronts are being shown long range, that time of year has come!

Not much rain from these fronts, dry and cool continental air masses and no subtropical jet from the PAC with cooling of ENSO. Latest PDO reading is another strong negative value.

Well, Ntxw, you are so cool to tell us this, but it seems that HGX is not buying it. They have upped the highs and lows on Sunday and Monday...

Sunday Sunny, with a high near 85.
Sunday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 50.
Monday Sunny, with a high near 86.

Maybe it will go back down....

At what temp does ragweed die? That's the temp I'm pulling for. Gah, this sucks.

Edit: Notice this on top the DFW NWS page:

Due to the Federal Government shutdown, NOAA.gov and most associated
web sites are unavailable. However, because the information this site provides is
necessary to protect life and property, it will be updated and maintained during
the Federal Government shutdown.

Now they've gone too far. Pitch-forks and torches to D.C. :grr:

Wow! The "coldest" front of the year is on the way and no posts since Tuesday. :D Temps on Saturday evening around sundown should be near 60 degrees! With cool Canadian wind to refresh our souls. I can not wait. And a couple nights in the upper 40's. Finally. This nasty, humid mess we have currently is going bye-bye!!!! Bring it!!!

Front is coming. Front is coming. Front is coming. :) It is disgusting outside. It does not help that I am hurt (YET AGAIN), but I think I can muddle through to Thursday when I have another orthotic adjustment. When it is like this, I just hate running. I really do. Well, Saturday around 8 pm will change it all. :)

I am ready for the chilly air! Sick of this heat, what a warm fall it has been. I hope we flip October because it's usually a good indicator for DJF.

Front is about to make it's way through the metroplex, can see it on radar and temps fall rapidly behind it. With the clouds, DFW should hover around 60 behind it all day. It's coming for you tireman4! November in October?

Yes, please make it hurry. We have a soccer game (yes, my child is almost 5 and plays soccer..LOL) at 10 am today. It is 80 right now and humid like the dickens. My run will be at 3 pm today and dealing with the humidity. So, yes make it hurry. :)

Edit: That was the most disgusting morning in awhile. Why? 83 degrees. Humidity 70 percent. Dewpoint, 75 degrees. It had rained yesterday and the fields were a muddy mess. Yeah, disgusting. Oh yeah, we lost 8-3. Ouch. Please front. Please hurry. We were soaked.

:uarrow:

Eagerly awaiting fropa here at the Portastorm Weather Center in scenic southwest Travis County. My son @ TTU texted me this morning that it felt quite brisk up there in Lubbock with temps in the lower 40s and a stiff north breeze!

And now ... all of this cold front talk makes me compelled to share a special message for wxman57. Here it is:

Great stuff coming out of scenic SW Austin! :uarrow:

and this is in wxman57's future for winter of 2013-2014 on the streets of Houston.

I am happy to report as of 1 PM the North Texas Branch of PWC is sitting at 56F with northerly wind at times gusting over 25mph. Lets all stop by gboudx's place for some gumbo!

Here's the latest rtma map. Front should be through Austin in a few hours and Houston this evening. It's cleared all of north Texas and is somewhere between Temple and Georgetown currently.
