INCREDIBLY DRY AIR OVER EASTERN AND CENTRAL PACIFIC

#1 Postby hurricanes1234 » Sat Sep 14, 2013 10:45 pm

I don't know if it's an error with the satellite, but I'm seeing some extremely desert-like air over nearly the entire eastern Pacific, and in the image, there are bright browns and blacks, something very rare indeed. What is really going on here? Could someone please explain what is going on with this dry air?!

I highly doubt that it's an error, just more data to backup the fact that all basins worldwide are struggling this year with TC formation, and favorable conditions.

Wonder where all that dry air came from. I notice droughts in Mexico and Central America, besides Alaska, Canada, and Russia.

For some reason I'm just glad it is not in the Atlantic, I really feel desperate in wanting to track some storms now that cause little to harm of course.

I don't think is that unusual to be that dry in central Pacific when the ENSO has being in a cool neutral stage all summer long.

I doubt this will change anytime soon. Maybe it'll change next year, assuming it is a normal season, and not a highly suppressed one like this year. :bored:

IMO, it may or may not not be until the next El Nino that the EPAC becomes very favorable for MH's. It's part of a global trend that may be due to PDO IMO.

Continues to get drier and drier. This is by far the dryest air I've ever seen on satellite. Definitely an unfavourable season out there.

It's been extremely humid and hot here in Hawaii. Not sure if there is a correlation.

Just look at how dry this is, and compare it to the first picture on this thread. How much drier can it really get? :shocked!: :shocked!: :shocked!: :shocked!: :shocked!: :shocked!: :shocked!:
