I went to Jamaica Beach with some friends and a couple of them brought their kayak and snorkeling gear. I had to wonder why they brought the snorkeling gear, until I stepped into the water and realized I could see my feet...even when I was way out at neck-deep level. It was beautiful out there. There were schools of fish swimming around and plenty of "cabbage heads" (at least that what someone called the jellyfish we saw -- bluish-white globes with almost no visible tentacles). I had a blast venturing way out in the kayak -- just me and the waves. It was a gorgeous weekend to boot and I didn't get sunburned.
Now, if only some of the coast guard guys had a chance to get down there and search for a head...they probably could have found it with the water as clear at it was. (Referring to the Robert Durst murder case -- local news -- for those of you outside the area.)
Okay...braggage over.
