You aren't listening very well......one of our weather apps is telling us we will be feeling -50F (not C) windchill tomorrow morning.

My husband who played in every blizzard when he was a farm kid is heading out the door saying F'ing cold, F'ing cold is on the way.

Hey, we were a bit cold on our bike rides last weekend with the temperature only into the mid to upper 70s. My wife even wore a long-sleeved jersey. Brrr!

Keep your snow and cold up north where it belongs, please.

Am praying now you folks see a record breaking cold front down there!

I gotta laugh to keep from crying ... I'm watching rainfall on radar move its way to the north and northeast of Austin. Once again we have a frontal passage with no rain. I'd say we got nothing but we did get an outflow boundary with wind gusts. Ooooo ... exciting.

I'm telling you folks, it won't be long now before Austin is known as the "Gateway to the Chihuahuan Desert."

Dry slot capital of America it's not even funny down there. I got about 0.40 inches of rain at the House, it was pouring for about 15-20 minutes on the way back with the initial line, just a light rain now.



Where is winter? Dalhart to Amarillo, snow/fog and 1 mile visibilities.

I feel your pain down here in SA Porta. Unfortunately we missed out on this one. I hope this pattern doesn't continue through the spring. The long range models look promising for us who missed out this time though.

The line of storms literally exploded once it passed I-35. Portions of northeast and east Travis County will see some rain ... not much but some. But most of the metro area here got nothing. I hope you're right STS about down the road.

Hey, for the first time since October 13 we received more than an inch of rain in 24 hours here in the Tulsa area.... Right now, I'll gladly take this rain in lieu of cold/snow...

Nice rains here in Grayson County this afternoon and evening.

Meanwhile, one to four inches of snow is forecast in the Panhandle. Nice to know that it doesn't take a full fledged arctic air mass to get snow in Texas this winter!

Well I did say our winter would get down there (never did say where though). Happy to see Amarillo get it since they are normally just as dry as Moose Jaw (both cities have the same semi-arid rating).

It does look like Houston won't get snow but it will have a lovely drop in temps (enough that Tireman can run and run and run and Wxman57 will be spending the day wrapped in a Canadian down coat inside ).

Yes and as we speak, the wind is howling and the rain is starting. I am thinking ( I have not checked) the front is nearby or on top of us in Humble.

That's kind of what I saw with the blocking idea from the GWO but wxman57 has been beating down with warm cold source etc (moving closer to the sun!), but Portastorm and I will never give in!

I made a deal that feb would be DFW's snowiest month, and it better deliver!

For what it's worth, Cosgrove says tonight that in his opinion, winter is over for Texas, SE, and much of the East (of course, as I pointed out before, he was beating the arctic invasion tom-toms a few weeks ago too).

But he does say this:

"We may be in better shape for rainfall potential during the next few months than was the case two years ago, if only because nearby tropical forcing (eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean) could be lined up to deliver moisture and energy to much of Texas. many of the analogs to the current pattern suggest an unusually warm, humid pattern locally with lots of thunderstorms."

Rainy weather would keep many Texans happy even without any more winter.

And it would keep a certain bike rider cooped up in his tropical palace!
