I hope Oklahoma gets a good snow. I was raised in Hugo and have relatives in Hugo, Antlers , and Norman. I now live in Northeast Arkansas and hope we get at least a half day of white Christmas day

Everything is falling into place! Looks like it's going to be a seriously white Christmas in Oklahoma City.

Time to wake up Oklahoma! Both GFS and NAM are forecasting the biggest snow event to date this winter for Oklahoma City and Tulsa in the next 48-60 hours with another threat heading into the weekend. Ukmet and Canadian agrees, euro keeps the big snows along the panhandle and far western Oklahoma.

Trust us..we are awake, but being VERY causiously optimistic. We have been burned by the GFS before. I will tickled pink at those totals considering the fact that we have had nothing for so long and this will do wonders for our drought! Now, we just need it to come true...pinkies and fingers crossed!!!:)

Latest NAM looks more realistic and falls in line with the other models, 1-3 inches for a large part of western, north-central, and maybe northeast Oklahoma. Embedded heavier amounts of 3-5 especially in the western parts of the state, temperatures will be near or above freezing so a heavy wet snow most likely to stick on grassy/elevated surfaces.
