Yep, right on track as its been. I know you said it would go east, southeast, whatever but it hasn't. It's done what the NHC has said.

Rating storms and how they have affected me on the beach in Biloxi since Camille, relative to overall damage to my house and neighborhood, and the surge, wind and rain associated with each storm: Katrina 05, Camille 69, Elena 85, Isaac 12, Gustav 08, Georges 98, Fredrick 79, Isadore 02, Bob 79. This applies only to my immediate beach area.

Anyone notice how Isaac just poofed? On WV it looks like his moisture is only making it to Arkansas.

You think he's making it to the Midwest? Looks like he's slamming into the ridge and only getting into Arkansas.Maybe I'm just delirious from no sleep.

Side note: Haven't seen this much mist since TS Lee last year and that makes me wonder. Why do tropical systems often contain very heavy mist on their back sides?
Aside from the winds, the one thing I remember about Ike is how fine the rain was. Just a very heavy mist-like rain, driving hard enough to hurt when it hit your skin.
HPC estimates are changing wildly. One day they show me in the 1" band, the next in the 3-4" band, then back down again. Guess we'll see come Saturday.

Kind of impressive how much moisture the thing is throwing out to its east over MS/AL/GA/SC and northern FL. Almost looks like a pinwheel unraveling.
I also kind of worry what kind of effects this storm had on the wetlands around southern LA - that area was already pretty badly beat up. Anyone know much damage was done in terms of erosion?

per WLOX.COM the city of Moss Point has issued a mandatory evacuation for ALL residents who live east of Highway 63. WLOX News has learned Mobile,Al is about to open its flood gates, which means 5 to 7 feet of water is possible in the City Moss Point.

What I'm saying, and this isn't directed at you specifically, is that the NHC is comprised of highly educated and experienced professionals who have decades of experience and cutting-edge technology at their disposal to make forecasts. Isaac has been a difficult storm, but I don't think any rational person can say that they haven't handled it well. If they say it's going to the Midwest, then I'm buying that it's going to the Midwest. Besides, they've addressed the ridge and said it will move to the east allowing Isaac to round it into the Midwest. The ridge isn't parked there.

The dam on Lake Tangipahoa at Percy Quinn State Park in McComb, Ms has been overtopped and is failing. Complete failure is certain. Authorities are telling people in Kentwood and Robert, La to get out now. They have 90 mins before the water reaches them. Please call anyone you know in the area to let them know if they may not be keeping up with the news. This is a very dangerous situation.

Do you know something about the cities/communities in between, like Tangipahoa, Roseland or Amite City?
