Looks like Mobile, Gulfport, New Orleans and Baton Rouge are all getting hammered at the same time.. Even Tallahasse is seeing some rough weather on and off..

A Heck of a Tropical Storm..!

This is the image from my GR just before Isaac begin to strengthen more and trick everyone with the wobbles! What do you notice? I thought it was rather strange it happened right then.

Isaac may go E. or N.E, or S.E.

Can you explain (in a weather for dummies type of way) why you believe this? And does anyone else think this??
South Mississippi here, and I am ready to be done with Isaac.

Just by looking at the WV Loop. Sometimes just watching helps. Models & NHC see it too - but updates take time to post

Because of where I was positioned and what happened just to my south ? I will eventually upload some of the video I took as I was parked along the Mississippi river with a massive cargo ship anchored in the river being thrown everywhere but the 6 to 8 foot waves in the river !

Yeah, someone said they thought you were in Belle Chase, and I had heard they had to evacuate people to your south. Looking forward to the video, and glad you are safe and sound. Plenty of people having to be rescued today from the Mississippi River waters rising.

yeah I was just to the north of there by a couple miles talked to the cops and they told me it was bad and not passable that was at 730pm just as the big band that was coming in I believe it was where the river zig zags and since the wind was along the river where i was I said to who was with me that I bet its piling up at that turn. we actually drove over the levi and parked about 50 feet from the river and watched some crazy stuff.

With Isaac weaking would that affect the track of it?

The track assumes it would be weakening so I can't imagine that the track would change because of that.

I believe you're in the Beaumont area, correct? If the future track of Isaac was to suddenly change drastically (not likely), trust me, someone will post it on here. I understand your concern, but I think we're fine over here. We might get some rain and gusty winds (it's pleasantly windy today) tonight or tomorrow, but we probably won't see much effect from Isaac on its current course, IMO.

I just saw this on Fox 8 out of New Orleans that the USGS is reporting that parts of the Mississippi River have been flowing backwards. About 8ft above where it has been. Incredible :double:

Aric!!!!

So glad to hear from you as we have been worried. I figured you had plenty of equipment to be in touch (but what do I know). Just happy to know you are safe and that you had an opportunity to experience Issac up close and personal. Welcome back. :D

On another topic, I too would love to have a "Like" button. Unfortunately, I don't think it is an option for these boards.

I believe there was some of that backflow in Katrina too, but the river channel handled it well. High levees on the river around New Orleans. But the backbay flooding has been terrible, and this storm is just relentless in terms of rain and wind.

I'm amazed at how well formed Isaac was on satellite and radar the last 12-18 hours, after all that watching.
