OMG! Did I just wake up to this thing being almost in the same place/same strength it was at 1am!?!?!?!

Im on the North Shore. We have been getting pounded all night but holding up well.

Poor people in New Orleans and Especially Grand Ilse!! That place is virtually just a sand bar!

Prayers to everyone.

Has there been any weakening to the blocking high steering winds to the North to allow a faster move to the NW or NNW?

What worries me is if he can get a little extra movement west and wobble a little south that would put him back completely over water to the west of atchafalaya bay.

Ok I have seen a couple differnet twitter reports of +100 mph gust I would not be surprised if this thing isn't strengthening a little.

Just my opinon not a forecast, not a meterologist, s2k disclaimer etc.

That's what I was thinking it would just take one little wobble to the south and it back over water

Here's that 1 minute flash floater: http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/~rabin/goes14/loop_srso.html

Convection fires over water, then dies out as it hits land, comes around, and does it again. Hopefully the center will move inland soon.
