Lower Plaquemine Parish...didn't happen for Katrina, or Gustav, but the angle of this storm is much different...regardless of intensity, it has alot ot do with angle of landfall. Thank goodness it did not get itself together any time before landfall.

That would be very bad. By the wind direction reports, being shown on local TV, Isaac is easily over open water, compounding the situation even more.

There's a far outer band that's already dumped about 3-4" of rain up near Columbia, MS.

One thing about Isaac is that his rains reach very far North and Northeast of the center. 10-15 inches over here and he didn't get closer than 160-180 miles from us!
Rains and surge will make this storm very costly.

Almost 7 years today a hurricane hits in the same exact place within 100 miles of each other. That's almost like getting struck by lightning twice.

Recent gust in Grand Isle to 85 mph per local storm report. The strongest core of winds looks still off to the ESE of that area as we speak.

Looks like HWY 23 I used to live in Belle Chase. Lots of Plaq. Parish is not there anymore. Some land we used to crab on I'd just gone. Note the ship in the left coating at road level. Is this south of where the levee runs along the Hwy. Like south of English turn? That is scary if it is, never saw the river get up over the levee.

Just as some were questioning the short term models going west while Isaac was moving nnw and made landfall on sw pass, he says i'm not done yet. Now looks to be following exactly what most models were showing thru the day.

If those winds are true then I think Isaac is currently at 85 mph.
