I am really glad you put this in here. I had planned to make another donation but forgot. It is done now! Thanks for the reminder. I did donate earlier but not as much as I wanted to do so now I have given more. It is MORE than worth it and rather than lose this site I would gladly pay a yearly fee. I hope it does not have to become a pay site because that would cut out a lot of people that need information but if that happens....I know I will pay!

I agree with this post 100%!! I would gladly pay though so that others that honestly could not pay, could still access the site! This site is wonderful!!!

I know there is a stickied thread in Announcements, but sometimes those get overlooked. If you can, please visit this thread and make a donation to keep Storm2k running. With a membership of this size, it would be nice if we didn't have to get down to only a few months worth of donations left. And before we know it, we'll be in the off season and we need a big enough balance to carry us through until next season. ANY SIZE donation is greatly appreciated as it all adds up! I know times are tough, but if you can spare a little, please do so.

I hardly think they're off spending the money on beer.

It's the Internet. Very few people are out front and center with their real identities. Part of this is due to the trolls who can and do use that against one.

This is coming from someone who runs a BBS online, openly, and at one point was signed up to thirteen very nasty stuff sites by some troll.

So I comprehend people using an anonymous screenname.

If they do use the money for beer, I don't care. I'm still enjoying the site, right?

I seldom post but have enjoyed the FYI here. The one thing that keeps me from gifting a board is not knowing who is collecting the money. And so I do feel a bit more transparency here as far as board owners/admins and/or moderators would be appreciated; after all when a member donates their idenity is know via check or credit card.

I mean with a board this nice are administrative screen socks really necessary?

As far as I know, when using paypal, your personal identity is not revealed. The paypal donation process is documented here: https://merchant.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/ ... /donations Part of the benefit of using paypal is to hide the payment information.

I'm not sure what a screen sock is ... but the money goes to pay the website hosting fee. The high traffic creates high fees.

You are not required to donate to enjoy Storm2K.

if you have questions wind gust, maybe you should pm one of the mods or the administrators. Having been here for many many years, and made donations I can promise you they are on the up and up. And if you feel uncomfortable then just don't do it.

I can't make large one-time donations, but I would gladly make smaller monthly donations and I would bet I'm not alone.

I don't post a lot, but I read seasonally and would be happy to throw $5 per month your way.

It would also allow for more consistent and predictable funding.

If you can make that option available, I'd be happy to put you in my monthly budget. If not, I understand, and I'd still be happy to throw some coin your way.
