The kind of roof you have can determine how much damage your house suffers during a windstorm.
On a gable roof, the wind goes up as it hits the wall, creating higher pressure under the roof. This force can rip the gable right off.
Hip roofs are smoother, so wind flows easier over the roof, creating less lift.

Not as powerful
An H-Bomb and destroy everything in its path for hundreds of miles (Nagaski and Hiroshima will never be the same). Plus, it leaves linger memories and harmful problems afterwards.
Plus, it depends on the strength of a hurricane. Hurricanes average cat 2/3 which still makes them strong, but not as strong as a cat 4/5. Cat 2/3 will level some houses, but not them all. As for Cat 4/5 we all know what happens. (Camille, Andrew)

A hurricane is much more powerful than an H-bomb and forms when warm air rises from the ocean, then cools and forms clouds.
The Earth's rotation makes these clouds form a giant whirlwind, spinning inward and upward dropping, sheets of rain.
The air spins fastest around the eye and escapes at the top and fans out. Downdrafts then pull some of the dry clear air into the eye.
