Just a quick note...we are back from San Diego and our weekend with Emma. She was a blast! Have some new pictures of her, of course, if anyone might request to see them.

My two boys went to a wedding of friends of theirs from Chicago in Vegas. Stayed at the Luxor over the weekend. Each came back with more $$$ than they went with...so this time it wasn't a bust.

I was at work today...typical of virtually any Monday holiday.

Didn't have time to read all the messages since we left, but will check them out during the week.

Hope all of you are safe and sound at home ready to start the last leg of summer as fall begins to sneak into the northern tier of states.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! We managed to squeeze by this weekend with a couple showers and clouds, but nothing like the flooding rains they're getting up in mid-Indiana. We even made it to Holiday World on Saturday! It was awesome!

Steve - Welcome home! Glad you had a wonderful trip seeing your sweetie pie.

Jacki - That's great that you're feeling better. Just turn on a big fan toward the east, and send me over some of that cool wx!

Shannon - Good luck with "the six-letter word"! What classes are you taking this semester?

Dennis - You'd make the perfect Santa!! Except do you still have the ponytail? Don't think I've ever seen Santa with a ponytail. :D Pictures required.

Take care everyone, and enjoy the weather on the porch ... cuz before too long we'll be gathering around the pot belly stove!

Good Morning!

"Shhhhh!" What's that noise? It's deafing........OH, it's TOO QUITE "LOL!" Yes.....the MASS EXODUS has taken place  We have our mountain top back after a LOOOoooooong weekend, sure was a great *shot in the arm* for the local economy

Ah yes...back to work after a 4 day weekend *sigh* only 35 days and 10 minutes till VACATION :D We are SO burnt out, it's hard getting up in the mornings now, cooler temps, daylight hours changing quick and like I mentioned, 35 days and "8 minutes" till vacation :D I can taste that authentic New Mexican cookin' and GALLONS of margaritas! "Easy Dennis, easy!" LOL!

Looks like the monsoon is pushing to end the season with a "BANG!" We had thundershowers most of the afternoon, some SEVERE storms reported around the area, 16 miles North in a little town called Snowflake, they had reports of 3.10" of rain in "20 minutes" with nickel and quarter size hail :o here.........we had just a hair over .94" in 2 hours and no hail!

Sandi, Bill........it was GREAT talkin' to both of you yesterday  I am SOOOOOOO glad that everything has worked out in y'alls favor, don't we have an "Awesome Father?"

Isobar....yes, I still have the ponytail, not quite as long, it's back to midshoulder length, had to have it trimmed, you know........split ends "LOL!  So you see, when it's not in a ponytail, it's the PERFECT length for Santa Claus.......I've been asked to do Santa at the Citys Tree Lighting this year *sigh* I don't know........there's always a MILLION, BA JILLION kids there.......we'll see!

Sounds like a wonderful trip Steve  sure......go ahead and shoot a coupla pix off to me  We *may* be going to San Diego in November, the *evil twin* wants us to go there and do some landscape plans for her new condo downtown....I don't know, to be REAL honest, I haven't flown in a commercial airliner in over 25 years now......I really don't cherish the thought "AT ALL!"

Well folks, that's nuff outta me this morning, have a GREAT Monday......errrrrr, Tuesday

Just checking in....in between classes.

Jacki...my uncle also said "the road does go South" that was our hint to come down to Silvis once in a while

Isobar, you were wondering what classes I have (in no particular order) Statistics, Soil Environment, Hydrology, Environmental Science, and finally Rock and Mineral Resources. Grand Total of 17 credits. Yikes, stripes, I'll have my hands full.

Bill and Sandi...prayer warriors at work. (they help)

Well, I suppose, could go learn something in my Stats class

Good Morning!

Well....it appears the monsoons are just about over for the year, wound up close to *normal* this year, August was normal, actually, .75" above normal......let's hope we can keep that trend going with the snowfall this year!

Speakin' of snow.....won't be long now! WoooHoooo! We need 2 more loads of wood before the cold weather settles in, we are going out on Friday and cut a load of aspen then my nephew is bringing us a load of Juniper.....AHhhhhhh, can you smell it burning??? NUTHIN' smells as good as juniper burning!

Shannon, I don't understand why you don't have a part time job in your spare time "LOL!" Geeesh....don't overload your brain!

"34 days" and counting till vacation.......ya know what REALLY HURTS??? I have never seen a commercial for the New Mexico State Tourism Dept....."FIRST" thing this morning, literally.....the *second* the tv comes on, right there in front of my sleepy eyes is a commercial for Albq, Taos, Santa Fe.....talk about rubbing it in Sheeesh! Easy Dennis, easy boy!

Off for another cuppa joe and read the paper....make it a GREAT Tuesday errrrrrr....Weds "LOL!" I swear, taking Labor Day off threw my WHOLE WEEK outta whack!

Morning everyone. I thought I would wear shorts out on the front porch this morning and it turns out it is 53º degrees outside so I had to go back in and put on some pants. :D

Shannon... I have taken Environmental Science. I really enjoyed that class a lot, but I think it depends on the instructor. Hopefully you have one that will make the class interesting. :)

Dennis, I hope you can keep your precip. trend going as well. Lord knows, ya'll need it out there.

Everyone enjoy your Friday! :D

Garrett...Environmental Science is my major. (the intro class was horrible, yet I'm still in the major?!?)

Yes, I do have a part time job....a matter of fact, I have 2. Green Bay and Fox Cities YMCA's (Broadview Center in GRB, and Neenah-Menasha Y)....that definitely keeps me busy.

Off to classes....have a wonderful day.

Just wanted to stop by and say hello...let you know we are ok...but that time online here will be limited for a while.

Please know that those of you who need prayer and kind thoughts will get them sent your way from here. Those who need a shoulder to lean on, can still lean via email or private message. Those of you who have things to celebrate...I still celebrate right there beside you.

And those of you who appreciate a break from this desert dweller...enjoy it because I may sometime find myself back at the keyboard with a vengeance.

My love and appreciation to you all....

Good Morning!

Wasn't around much yesterday, had a severe case of *mountain fever*.......we had to GET OFF the mountain "LOL!" Spent the better part of the day in Flagstaff. Walked around old town, had a nice lunch at Garcia's. Flagstaff is in the mountains too BUT.....one huge difference, there's more places to shop than just WALMART!

MAN.....I was literally *rattled* out of bed at 0212 this morning......two claps of thunder so LOUD, I "HATE" that......being SOUND asleep and a LOUD noise like that, I couldn't figure out what the heck was going on....then another FLASH and BANG all at the same time! Looks like the monsoon is hanging on by tooth and nail.......it doesnt' want to leave!! HEY.....that's fine by me, the longer it rains, the shorter it is till "SNOW!" Speaking of snow, did y'all here about the snow in Colorado day before?? Won't be long I'm tellin' ya........everyone I've talked to, "AHEM!" DJ being one of them and some OLD, OLD medicine men from the rez SWEAR up and down, this *could* be the winter from HADES!!! Let's hope so.......Azskyman needs the water to fill his swimming pool "LOL!"

Gimme a break Steve, we ENJOY your posts so much....hurry back!

Well....that's enough dribble outta me this morning, make it a GREAT Saturday one and all........as soon as the sun comes up.....guess where I'm going??? ANyone???? It has something to do with a *little white ball* Cya's!

Good Saturday Morning!!!

It is a beautiful day here - low humidity and sunshine with the temps going to 78 degrees. Marty's niece is getting married today. I have to bring Marty's mom to the weeding - Marty is enroute back from New Orleans for a business meeting. The poor guy is taking the red-eye, but he has a 4 hour layover at Atlanta.

This morning is a busy one - I had to bring Derby for his bi-weekly IV fluids I have to stop at the bank and then get to a haircut appointment at 11:00. The wedding is at 2:00pm. Needless to say, I'll be sleeping in tomorrow!

It sounds like you had a great time Dennis off the mountain. I did see on TWC the blizzard that hit Pike's Peak two days ago at the summit. I believe it brought about 3 inches of snow. Pike's Peak will always have a special place in my heart since it was my first 14'er! :D

Steve - I assume that you are getting busy at work so that's why you be around as much. Drop in as often as you can though!

Has anyone heard from some of our other AZ friends - DJ, Steve, M2??

Anyway, have a wonderful Saturday!

Henri's showers and thunderstorms by-passed my immediate area due to upper level wind shear. At the moment there is an blob of convection along the Florida Atlantic coast.

How ironic, Stephanie... I was wondering where DJ, Steve and M2 have been too.

Have a great weekend, everyone! :)

I'll take a little while to vist here on the porch. I defiinitely need the hammock-well maybe I should just sit in a rocker for a while since I am still typing. :P

I also worked today. I now have a job for at least another week, maybe two! Keep praying he gets more work in so he needs me ALL THE TIME!!! The office is 2 miles from the house! It's lik egoing to the store for bread or something!! The only better commute would be from my bedroom to the computer room at home!!

AFter 6.1" of rain in 4 days from Grace and her remnants we have GORGEOUS WEATHER now. Of course, I was inside all day working  . I can not believe we had a low of 64 this morning!!! Not in the first week of September-Not in Houston Texas!!! That's okay-it is supposed to be 62º in the morning!! Could we have an early winter coming on? I wish!!!!!!

Well, this guy needs to get to the bed soon so I will bid you all adieu till next time.

Good Morning!

Well....the first true taste of autumn is HERE! Sitting at a comfortable 44° this morning, feels GREAT! Had some severe storms yestday afternoon....I was in the chat room numerous times but the dang power kept going out on me! Another soggy day on tap for today, kinda strange pattern, the monsoons for all intents and purposes *should* be over by now or close to it and reading the NAFD just a little bit ago, sounds like by Tues/Weds we're gonna get "BLASTED" again! That's O'TAY......I've got a sneaky gut feeling this is gonna be one of those years that as soon as the monsoons are over, WINTER will sneak in the back door and stay till MAY or JUNE!!! "Let's hope so!"

Off for another cuppa Joe and read the paper! Have a Blessed Sunday one and all!

Haven't stopped in here for a while, how's everyone doing today? :) Good? Me too. ;)

I gained a few pounds back this week. :( Hopefully I can lose it next week.

The weather here has been nice as of late - warm, sunny, and dry. Yesterday was 85, Friday was 88, and Thursday was 87. Today it is 70° already. And it is not even 8 AM already. :o

I am on my backup computer right now because I had to do the security updates to it last night. So far so good. ;)

Have a good Sunday everyone. Joshua

Remember Tom, we're the S2K twins!!!

Good Sunday morning everyone!

Joshua - gaining weght back can happen sometimes when you're on a diet, sometimes you even "plateau" and don't lose anything for a few weeks, but keep trying!

David - I hope that the work does keep flowing in for your friend and for you!

Dennis - I hope your gut feeling is right and winter is right around the corner for you in the SW. I want to read about some good weather news from you guys for a change! Actually, last winter was a heck of alot more fruitful than the winter before and I'm so glad to see that the monsoon hasn't really been a "nonsoon" for you guys this year.

The wedding yesterday was beautiful. My legs and feet are kiling me from all of the dancing! Marty and his sons made it in time for the reception, though missed the cocktail hour. I even did my nails for the occassion! :D

Anyway, this is the first official Sunday of pro-football. I'll be torn between going outside and watching the games. During this whole month, I have something going every weekend. There are actually a few things I can't go to because of conflicting schedules. Feast or famine right??

Anyway, everyone have a wonderful and blessed Sunday!

Afternoon everyone. I have been working all afternoon on Educational Psychology coursework, and so I thought I would browse here while I am working. It will take longer that way, but will make it more enjoyable. :D

It is beautiful outside and I wish I could be out in it. We did eat lunch on the back porch and the sun felt great! :) Darla is supposed to call sometime today.

Stephanie -- glad to hear you had fun at the wedding!

Nice Front Porch weather here ... 82° and not a cloud in sight. :) :D

GO CHEFS!!!!!!!!! :) :D

Hope you all have a good week at work. I might get a new job title: Computer Repair Technician. No, I am not getting a NEW job, this is still at the same place. We are getting cable Internet at work and they want me to help with the maintenance of their computers! :) :D So this afternoon I compiled a list of the most critical hotfixes that they might need (that's why I went offline for a little while) and tomorrow I will be bringing it in to them for review. ;)
