Yup. Wife just called me to tell me sleeting northern part of Tomball.

Amazing. Who would have thought the Houston area would get the frozen stuff before DFW.

Nothing in SW Houston. Whoever is seeing "sleet", are you sure it's sleet and not graupel? Sounding has all precip forming in sub-freezing air above 700mb, which should be snow. There isn't any above-freezing followed by another sub-freezing layer (which would produce sleet) indicated. See the sounding below.

Could super-cooled water above 12,000 ft be going directly to ice vs. snow crystals to produce sleet? Or are we seeing graupel, which is partly melted and re-frozen snowflakes? Graupel is round like sleet but much whiter and softer (generally).

This is what graupel looks like:

Granbury is reporting light snow. That line is heading into Tarrant and western Dallas county's direction as you've mentioned ^

Looks like we will have to rely on street lamps or the patio light to see any flakes.
Until I go outside to see it of course.

We had some sleet here near The Woodlands. It didn't last too long but it was pinging pretty good for a few minutes. I didn't find any graupel here Wxman. Just plain old IP..

I want sleet or snow... something besides rain.

Hope y'all get to build a snowman, or at least throw a few snowballs. :)

My mini hiking trip was a success. No photos (flash wasn't working) but saw some pretty big flakes! It's been mixing with sleet for about 20 minutes now. Cedar Hill area.

Temperature has dropped to 33° now in Weatherford. The sleet has changed to light snow. The snow is sticking to the roofs and a little bit on the car tops, but not to the streets or even the grass.

Fort Worth reporting light snow, any verifications?

Edit: Snow is picking up here more like a snow shower than the flurries just 15-20mins ago.

hriverajr had some nice vids from Del Rio earlier today and even I produced a vid earlier today with my little graupel storm.

I would have, but it got dark! It's not doing anything right now, if it picks back up again I will try to get something.

Nothing was sticking, except a tiny bit on the car. It was all snow and sleet, I'd say about 75% snow. And, it lasted about 20-30 minutes.
