How was your holiday weekend???

#1 Postby Pro-Storm » Mon Sep 01, 2003 7:10 pm

We had a great time this weekend...went fishing at Santee and Little Bear caught two 5 lb. and four 3 lb. catfish. Went golfing the next day, shot an 84. Had the family over today for some of my famous "slap yo momma" ribs on the grill. Good times...long term memories, thank you lord!

Sounds great Pro-Storm!

Mine was nice - and FAST! I went to a BBQ/surprise birthday party after work on Friday and stayed over at the new casino in AC - The Borgata. I did alittle gambling and headed home on Saturday.

My cat, Derby, has been very sick and we've been bringing him for IV fluids weekly. He's had once infection after another on top of his liver and kidney disease. Marty brought him to the vet Saturday when I was still in AC and they gave him more antibiotics because his white blood-cell count was really high. The vet had said we should really start to think about putting him to sleep. This was the second time the vet has mentioned it - the first time was when he had a bad cold. After the last time, the antibiotics helped him and he was healthier, actually wandering around more. I know that withing the next couple of weeks I will have to put him down and I'm so depressed about it. Actually, it was 5 years ago this Labor Day weekend when I had to put an outside cat that we wanted to bring in the house to sleep because of feline HIV.

Sorry about the negativity of this post - but that's how my weekend has been!

I hope everyone has had a restful and happy Labor Day1

Gosh Steph!!! That is terrible. I sent you a PM.

Mine went great. Spent the weekend at my parents beach house down in Pensacola. The crazy, lying sister did not show up, thank goodness. So, we all had a great time. I am stuffed. We went boat riding and rode the wave runner. We grilled shrimp kabobs and boiled crab. Had corn on the cob boiled with potatoes and sausage. YUM!! Got a bit too much sun, but my arms are protected. They should look real good when the casts come off. lol.

Steph, I hope your cat gets some rest
minus the pain and discomfort. Our animals
are family members, too!

My brothers/families and Mom came over
and we grilled burgers and hotdogs. It was
DANG hot, and, the flies were buzzin' like
crazy, and, we came up with a lot of good
ideas on the usage of mosquito netting...LOL...
but, we STILL managed to enjoy each other's
company, and, I do believe that everyone
ate until they were stuffed! I'm so tired, but, it
was definitely a most enjoyable day!

Sounds like pretty much everyone is having a great Labor Day so far. Sorry about your sick kitty Stephanie.

Chad and I went to a BBQ at our friend's house. We had a good time, lots of good eating and talking. We also went swimming. Dustin had the grandest time in the pool. He kept dunking his head underwater like he liked it or something, LOL. Little boy can't get enought of the pool! It was a nice holiday all in all. Hope everyone else had a nice safe day too. :D

I got 2 snook, 3 redfish and a dozen keeper seatrout today! Beautiful day on the water here! Light breeze and a great blue sky. Went over to the in-laws for our BBQ just to top the day off. It's going to be hard to go back to work tomorrow! ;-)

Let's see - my in-laws visited on Saturday/Sunday. Basically just relaxed on Saturday and went out to dinner with my wife, her parents, her grandmother and a family friend. Had a BBQ/picnic on Sunday afternoon with a total of 12 people (family/friends). Went with my wife to see the Phillies lose to the Red Sox on Monday. Oh, and was part of the great 50+ person chat at storm2k on Sunday evening. So overall, it was a very nice Labor Day weekend. :)
