I've been on AIM waiting for you

Anyway, you should also run a spyware scan to make sure some dumb program didn't sneak in there and decide "hey, I wanna be seen first; so lemme make myself his start page". You can find AdAware, a leading spyware removal program, here.

I just found a great program that is supposed to prevent your IE homepage from being changed - and it's free!
Find it here:

It happens to me too once in a while. The address of my home page is hard to remember, so I keep a notepad file on my desktop with the address in it. Then it's a simple copy and paste to restore it. If adaware doesn't get it, try Spybot. Spybot is pretty good for catching spyware too, and it's a free download.
