Looks like a low cloud swirl at the moment. We'll see if convection develops.

I saw where this was on the map and thought this can be a repeat of Vince, or Grace 2 years ago.

What gets me about Invest 92L is that NOAA seems to think there is enough chance that this will develop into something to the extent of defining an Invest for it, but in the latest TWO for the North Atlantic (after saying NHC is tracking Ophelia and Phillippe) it says "Elsewhere... tropical storm formation is not expected in the next 48 hours." Huhh??

It really popped out of nowhere didn't it? I don't think it's going to have enough time to develop into anything, with Ophelia's remnants racing across the Atlantic just north of it and likely to absorb it.

I am not a meteorologist, and any posts made by me are not official forecasts or to be interpreted as being intelligent. These posts are just my opinions and are probably silly opinions.

Invest does not mean they think something might develop and invest does not indicate what chance. They do an invest in order to run some models.

I saw the globals (ECWMF, GFS) picking this system up a couple days ago and turning it into some kind of tropical entity.

Reminds me of the old Wonder Twins cartoon. Wonder Invest, Activate! Wonder Invest, Deactivate! I wish they could have deactivated Irene.
