Sounds like Roke was still a formidable typhoon at landfall. What was the intensity?

One intense typhoon at landfall. Thanks for the updates, Rob! And keep safe! Those winds are mad...

Good thing that Roke is moving quickly, I suppose the wind event took a few hours. Is the weather okay now in your place?

Re: WPAC: ROKE - Typhoon (18W)
The first rain bands hit around noon and then ended about 7 hours later, the worst was around 5, pretty scary at that time.

Re: WPAC: ROKE - Typhoon (18W)
What was the lowest pressure recorded on land? Based on satellite appearance, I would estimate the landfall intensity was 85 kt (1-min sustained).

Woke up to the sound of chainsaws, realized the tree right outside my bedroom window had half of it laying in the street outside.
