The edge of that rain shield is getting really close to Houston.

Just went down to Fish River, Weeks Bay, and Fairhope Big Pier and water is up higher than normal but is not coming over the bulkheads yet. The roads along the Bay and country roads toward my house are flooded. Very scary driving around. The wind has picked up a good bit since earlier this afternoon. Rain is coming down. I don't know if this area is going to be able to handle several days of this. Reminds me a lot of what Danny did to this area. Even saw a few trees down over the road. Anyway stay safe!

GFDL also now onboard the back to the Gulf solution. Takes Lee into Texas near Corpus Christi in 90 hours. That would be a true boon.

Rain just started in League City...nws upped our rain chances to 60% tonight....yippee. Max gust at my station today of 39mph. Looks like Houston will get some after all...how far west the rain shield moves is hard to say though.

Rock, I'm betting you get rain after all...slow w/nw motion is helping and it is wrapping up in west quadrant best i have seen so far.

Up to 4.5" total now. Flash Flood warning in effect until midnight due to the band that has set up over us but nothing too heavy yet. The warning states 4"-6" possible and with the river now at flood stage that could cause problems.

Poor Mike!

I am unlucky myself. I felt mist outside, but there has been yellow (moderate rain) <5 miles east and south of me for 4 hours now. I don't think I will get anything more than mist.

Long time lurker- had to register so I could let you guys know, it’s rough here! Fairhope poster wasn’t kidding! Over here on the west side of the bay, we have waves breaking on the seawall, spray racing from one end to the other, and we’re on the lee side of Gaillard Island- this is the baby pool! Winds at Middle Bay Light 45mph per Wundermap- much more weather than we were expecting. Maybe this is just Lee’s tail end but it’s packing a punch!

As of this morning we have a hurricane statement issued for Jefferson County until tomorrow morning - have no idea what that is all about. The statement just reminds us to be prepared for hurricane conditions in our area and if we have not comprised a plan to do so.

What does this have to do with Lee models????

So what is the NAM scenario and can someone post a link or images to the nam? Thanks

Sorry meant for discussion, but in relation to the models, you are better off looking outside than looking at the models IMO.

ATL: LEE - Tropical Storm - Discussion

#2619 Postby jasons2k » Sat Sep 03, 2011 8:00 pm

It's been breezy here all day just north of Houston with the winds picking-up some. A band earlier this afternoon fell apart just as it approached, but the main rain shield is inching closer. Looking at the trajectory of it near Huntsville, I just might see some rain tonight.
