Just read on the NWS site that my area in East Tx is under a flash flood watch. Winds have been picking up this morning blowing around what look like dirt, but after watching it was acutally light rain!!! (For about 60 secs) literally.

What office? Because Texas is not under a Flash Flood Watch.

When I put in my zip code for my area it shows me a hurricane statement which in it tells that portions of sw la and se texas are under a flash flood watch.

The way it looks on radar, we are almost done with rain in Baton Rouge. there is a huge slot of no rain between the outer band and the center.

How does this work compared to other tropical systems? Will wind speeds still increase as the center approaches? Will it be windy with no rain?

I dont see how the forcasts showing 3 days of rain will come to fruition for us in baton Rouge, when it looks like the rainy portion of this is almost past!

This storm could head back out into the gulf and then head right over you.... We have a ways to go, IMHO..

thanks pwr. This whole system confuses me. To make matters worse, they made us come into work today... We have tornado warnings, but on the radar, it doesnt even look like there is much of a storm capable of reaching us... its windy and dark outside, but no rain right now. Just got done with a serious squall of 50mph winds.

I have no idea what's in store.
