It looks like the dry air from Texas has impacted the circulation and the shear has moved all of the convection to the east of the center. Lee is trying to wrap some convection around the center but is not having much luck.

It also appears that lee is about to make landfall though he is forecast to move slowly inland and the east side will continue to stream lots of rain and squalls for some time to come.

Texas is like a pure desert right now. That dry air inland just absolutely shredded Don awhile ago. Thankfully, the dry air entrainment kept Lee from becoming a rather potent hurricane, but he is definitely a strong TS causing plenty of enough problems for the Northern Gulf Coast.

Man, I wish there was some way we could send a least a portion of this moisture to Texas. This is just been an unbelievable situation out there with this drought all summer long. I really empathasize with you guys out there for sure!

On a side note, funny how the graph at the top of the page has Lee and Katia appearing to head toward the same general location in the northeast! Not really laughing though.

Is this a possibility and what would the impact be?

Again tornado warnings. Had to back flush a bunch of water out of pool because it was not draining fast enough. Real worry is my house in Walker I rent out. In a flood area and I do have flood insurance but what a pain. And to find long term tenants again will be hard.

Tim, it does look like it is close to making landfall soon. Where I am in BTR we are getting a very good squall right now. Rain coming in sheets and lots of wind! Went out for some groceries for the game a little bit ago, it was not bad at all. Nothing you don't see during an afternoon rain shower. Glad I made it back to the house before this came. Going to be an interesting day.

Just waking up. How did Lee make it to landfall so quickly when yesterday evening it wasn't forecast to landfall till 16 hours or so from now?

Watching the radar from Intellicast. Looks like the rain is trying to push that dry air back further north around Sabine county. Looks like on radar that Lee is moving more on a nw heading which would be wonderful for us folks in deep east Texas.
