Re: ATL: LEE - Tropical Storm - Discussion
Lee looks like a tropical wave interacting with an upper low. if it was in the mid Atlantic it might not even be an Invest. But I do think it ingest this dry air and then start strenghtening if it's not inland tomorrow evening.

Just like Jon Snow..."I know nothing" except what I know, and most of what I know is gathered by the fine people of the NHC

BigA wrote:In all seriousness, the structure looks better as the ULL's influence wanes. I think upper-end TS is a good prediction, given the increasingly favorable conditions, 36-48 hours more over water, and the storm's large size, which makes consolidation difficult. But if it fires some hot towers over the LLC tonight, it could ramp up quick.
I've had the water vapor loop going all day in a separate browser tab and I don't see where the ULL is waning at all. It's been sitting stationary over the SETX coast and just funneling more dry air and shear into Lee. I suppose it could eventually wane, but so far I'm not seeing it.

Just had a little shower from the tease. Rained just enough to smell it.

It's like Texas is punching out a big fist saying, "Nuh uh! No rain coming here!"

That's 37 meters above the surface and I don't know how much of a difference that makes but it is 6mbs lower than 24hrs. ago.

Wouldn't it be calibrated to sea level? If I recall, the change in pressure/change in height is about 1mb/9 meters at sea level. So it's possible that the barometer really reads about 1006. Not sure.

From the looks of the picture it's a oil drilling platform...

It's a drilling platform, not a buoy.
