Lee looks like a tropical wave interacting with an upper low. if it was in the mid Atlantic it might not even be an Invest. But I do think it ingest this dry air and then start strenghtening if it's not inland tomorrow evening.

I think upper-end TS is a good prediction, given the increasingly favorable conditions, 36-48 hours more over water, and the storm's large size, which makes consolidation difficult. But if it fires some hot towers over the LLC tonight, it could ramp up quick.

I've had the water vapor loop going all day in a separate browser tab and I don't see where the ULL is waning at all. It's been sitting stationary over the SETX coast and just funneling more dry air and shear into Lee. I suppose it could eventually wane, but so far I'm not seeing it.

alot of the deep reds not as noticable as earlier on the infrared...is that a result of dry air?....

Boy, wouldn't it be great for that thing to spread out and hit those fires in TX and OK. I really feel for those folks.

Just had a little shower from the tease. Rained just enough to smell it.

It's like Texas is punching out a big fist saying, "Nuh uh! No rain coming here!"

 I'm doing the same thing. I'm going outside, looking east and south and saying, "Come on Lee! Send a feeder band this way! You can do it!" I think I'm losing my mind.

Wrong storm Ixolib. Hopefully Lee doesnt start to look like this. Lee does look like he is getting a bit better organized though. Trying his hardest to wrap some convection around the western side.

That's 37 meters above the surface and I don't know how much of a difference that makes but it is 6mbs lower than 24hrs. ago.

Wouldn't it be calibrated to sea level? If I recall, the change in pressure/change in height is about 1mb/9 meters at sea level. So it's possible that the barometer really reads about 1006. Not sure.

From the looks of the picture it's a oil drilling platform...

It's a drilling platform, not a buoy.
