yeah Irene is passing to your east so the winds probably wont ever get that strong there.. palm beach should see the strongest winds throughout the day.

we'll my local office is calling for a north wind between 23 and 29 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. No sign of windy conditions as of yet. Cloudy rainy day.

Wow, 50 knot wind gust so far at Jupiter Inlet this morning, where are the Tropical Storm Warnings for at least the immediate coast!

Image

Edit: Sorry, up to 58 knots, didn't realize that it was a live image, changed it to fixed image.

From a non-pro like myself - and from just watching these Sat Loops -
Irene seems to be elongating from w to e, as if ridge building in just north of CDO area.
Can she slow down/stall/ go more west soon?
Where is the trough picking her up? I am confused.

I know it is long range, but the movement of the center is a bit concerning on the above radar loop..

Aric, watching that long range radar, does it concern you as much as it does me? Or is the long range not give a true direction?

Agreed 50 kt gusts warrant a TS Warning there.

It's from the same site that has the Palm Beach cam. 8-)
