Looking at the high resolution of the IR of this hurricane, it looks NNW to me which is very close to the NHC track.

112 knot flight-level (700 mb) winds just measured in the NE quadrant; this is the first time since yesterday around noon that any plane has actually measured winds suggestive of major hurricane strength. Peak SFMR was only 88 knots.

The pressure may be down (actually the latest AF drop had pressure of 952 mb with winds greater that 10 knots), but the gradient is flatter. So, sorry cutting winds was completely justified.

COAST AT ABOUT 30 TO 35 MPH. THIS LINE WILL BE REACHING COASTAL
SECTIONS OF SOUTHEASTERN PALM BEACH COUNTY IN ABOUT 30 TO 40
MINUTES AND THEN SPREADING INLAND OVER THE FOLLOWING HOUR. THIS
BAND WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY WIND GUSTS THAT COULD POSSIBLY EXCEED
40 MPH AND HEAVY RAIN.
