Yep - getting pretty busy out there -- strange to think there's a ton more to come!

Think with the slow movement Okinawa should be expecting to experience this kind of weather for at least the next 18 hours. Just my opinion.

According to the (old) 09z JTWC forecast, Okinawa will only clear out of the 50-kt wind radius some time shortly before 05/18z, or 3 am local time on Saturday. That's going to be one long Friday tomorrow...

We went through a long one like that. It can get very tiring. Thanks for all the updates.

My whole room just wobbled! Felt like an earthquake but coincided with a strong gust. Just checking to make sure not a tremor. Gusting 72kts at Naha airport and 80kts 15km east of here! Tomorrow gonna be wild - especially since radar shows this could pass pretty close!!

JMA 12z now shows landfall into China shortly before TAU72 as a typhoon.

Not to mention, "MOVE W SLOWLY" is the last thing you want to see here, this thing is hanging around.

We are now in TCOR 1-Emergency

BULLETIN: AS OF 04/2100L WE ARE IN TCCOR IE. TYPHOON MUIFA IS LOCATED 110 MILES SOUTHEAST OF OKINAWA. IT HAS WINDS GUSTING TO 110 KNOTS NEAR ITS CENTER AND IS MOVING NORTHWEST AT 6 KNOTS. DAMAGING WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO OCCUR FROM NOW UNTIL 05/2200L. THE STRONGEST WINDS ON OKINAWA ARE EXPECTED TO BE SUSTAINED FROM 80KNOT WITH 95 KNOTS FROM 05/1100 - 05 1300L.

Not that I think any of us are stupid enough to be running around out there in this anyway.

big gust, the winds probably will remain very high for a long time given the size and slow moving nature of this storm...

Yeah, that's a warning for over 24 hours of incessant pounding... I'm glad I'm not in that. Take care, guys.

Nothing on the JMA or CWB websites about a quake! Must have been the gust of wind! Right, will try and get some sleep again...

My Mac is telling me it's going to take 2 hours to process my 5 minute movie so I guess I'm going to sit up, have some pizza and wait for that to finish. We usually keep power off base so fingers crossed we will still have it in the a.m. Yeah, it's been getting progressively nastier as the night goes on. Don't know how I'm going to sleep in this!
