You're welcome. Take a look at the map below and you'll see what I was describing. Look at an "L" on the map. See the circle with the crosshairs in the middle? That's the actual low position:

This TV station in Tampa seems to at least think there is a chance it could be a GOM storm. Doesnt look like he likes the NHC forecast.

It is interesting to note that the forecast track of Emily is not the usual track in August. The graphic below shows all tropical storms and hurricanes that have passed within 50 miles of Tropical Storm Emily’s current location and where they have ended up going. Notice the most common track is across the northern Caribbean and into the Gulf of Mexico. Emily would be among the few to take a track to the east of the state of Florida.

Burst of convection near center ... let's see if it persists. Looks like a slight jog to the NW as well.

Sorry, but there is no real average track. These storms are each governed by steering currents. The storm and the pattern do not care what the average path is.

Nice convective flre up occuring. Could this signal that Emily now has her internal affiars in order? She still looks like she is heading west at a decent clip.

Thanks...it seems like the model suites page on that moe.met.fsu.edu tends to lag and I was just wondering.

Latest HWRF has landfall in Florida near Brevard county I believe, and is much farther west.
