Alex formed on the 31st of July...may not have been upgraded to a TS till the 1st...but it *formed* the day before...and usually they tend to count for the month before fron what I've noticed.

Of course, its really just depends on how you look at it, either way August 2004 was insane!!

I'm going with at least six; four hurricanes & two tropical storms.
