Re: 2011 North Atlantic Hurricane season is here!
Five years ago today, at the start of the 2006 Hurricane Season, I remember staring at my sandy lot, covered in survey stakes and 40 foot long wood pilings, and thinking "why am I rebuilding on Dauphin Island?" At the start of the first post-Katrina hurricane season, it was an obvious question.
Five glorious virtually hurricane-free years later, and as I stand here on the deck (of the hopefully much stronger house), sipping on a Diet Coke, gazing at the tranquil Gulf, I once again hear that nagging voice...in the back of my mind..."Will this be the year it happens again?"
