Already fear this will be used by the anti-nuclear power people.

Ironically in the end it will probably go to show how safe nuclear power really is. That it took an 8.9 quake and a series of failures for a plant to go into meltdown and even then the containment dome will do its job and the release of nuclear material will be similar to three mile island.

Already was, by Greenpeace talking on the BBC.

Thank you to all of those that are in Japan right now for the updates. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all of Japan. I am shocked by the news and videos of destruction and now totally frightened by what is happening with their nuclear reactors. The ramifications of what has happened and is currently happening will affect generations to come.

Just when you thought you witnessed "the worst" major disaster, it seems like there's another one that is even worse. This is really scary.

Here is the location of that 6.4 strong aftershock very close to the nuclear plant that had the explosion.

As much video as we have seen it is still very difficult for me to wrap my head around the tsunami vids. I can not imagine watching that live as it was happening, not knowing if you were going to be ok or not. Truly scary!!! And now on top of all of the destruction they are possibly facing a nuclear disaster. Hopefully the containment structures are intact and will hold.

No meltdown is expected any longer, according to the government. Only concern is a minor leakage, and iodine is on standby for distribution.

James Reynolds?(typhoonhunter)is on his way to Japan. Hopefully we will get some reports from him also once he gets there. I hope the "no meltdown" isn't just government hype. I pray it is true.

Just in: Jap. experts found fission-products Iod and Casium near the compound. It is been told that this suggests that the meltdown is in progress.

So in other words, no further meltdowns are expected, because the one they were concerned with already started?
