I just drove back home...roads/overpasses still good.

29.1F here with freezing rain/sleet mixing....
Good precip in Willowbrook with ice accumulating on the pine trees.

My car is so smart. I was running a quick errand and when I started the car the console read "Ice Possible."

It was 33 when I left the house 30 minutes ago and was 29 when I returned. Light drizzle but haven't seen any sleet in the Bear Creek area.

29.3F here in Spring Branch area with same type of precip. and icing beginning. This needs to stop soon so we can get some drying or we are going to have another mess. Everytime I check the radar I think ah, I see the end, and then I check it again and the end is in the same place. :cold: :froze:

That is true. We've had snow in early April before which is very rare obviously but we have had a lot of rare experiences lately.

Today was a bit of a dissapointment but winter has been good overall for the DFW area. If you count last winter this area has seen quite a bit of winter fun. It snowed eight times at my house last year and this year has been good. It is still only early Feb so winter isn not over yet. No complaints here. If some of the colder winters in the near future come true we will have a lot to discuss. It has been a blast so far talkin weather with everyone! Heres to more winter! :ggreen:

Txagwxman,

Eyewitness reports snow in Cypress right now (Grant/Jones).

How can this be? I thought the air column above the clouds was well above freezing?

Snow flurries now in College Station. Quite a bit actually (I thought the moisture was gone by now). Bridges and even some surface streets are getting quite slick. The local police scanner is quite busy.

Well it is snowing pretty good now. It is coming down to the point I can't see the trees across the field. Grass is pretty much covered. Oh NE Texas in winter, is so pretty.

I'm down to 27.0F and still slowly falling and light freezing precip as well. I have about a 1/8th of an inch of ice covering trees and plants and icicles hanging off roof ledges.

I think ur therm is a little off...I am 29.6F --- got a Davis...however, I may have ice freezing on the shield---which could warm-up the temp.

Hooks 28F.

Well, we had snow falling for about 1 hour, but sadly nothing is sticking. The tables are just wet, the plants are wet, the grass is dry. This was NWS Shreveport's forecast:

This Afternoon: Snow. High near 35. North wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Talk about fail! :

Just went out and chipped the ice off. Rose to 28.4 after that process. Still freezing drizzle, though.

Wait until this evening in Houston! NW side will freeze quickly once the sun sets.
I think I got .20" of precip.

Well, there is a tiny bit of blue mixing in with the pink SW of Houston.
