How the world works...

#1 Postby sunny shine » Thu Feb 20, 2003 3:02 pm

If a man cuts his finger off while cutting salami at work, the restaurant is to blame.

If you smoke 40 packs of cigarettes a day and die of lung cancer, you blame the tobacco companies.

If your neighbor crashes while driving home drunk, he blames the bartender.

If your children are brats without manners, you blame it on the television.

If your friend is shot by a deranged madman, you blame the gun manufacturer.

If you have overweight children, you blame it on McDonalds.

And if a crazed person breaks into a cockpit and tries to kill the pilot at 35,000 feet, and the passengers kill him instead, the mother of the deceased blames the airline.

So, if I die while sitting in front of this computer, I want you all to blame Bill Gates, okay?!!

No, it's not okay, but that's exactly how America is right now. You hit it right on the nose!

Check this out. It was in the USA Today, this morning.

A 53 y/o gentleman in Indiana is suing a nearby riverboat casino
because he became addicted to gambling and is now bankrupt.
It seems that this former state auditor, who apparently used to
be "the picture of frugality", ran through $175,000 in three years
(his life savings).
Now, he's suing the casino to recover his losses.

Can anybody say....STUPID???

Of course, we are to believe that it is highly unlikely that this
gentleman could be responsible for his own actions, right? :o

Again...things that could be avoided with a little common knowledge.

We are now a society with a very low sense of personal responsibility. It's a real shame but oh so true...
