40W Disturbance Circulation?

#1 Postby wxman57 » Thu Aug 21, 2003 9:09 am

Got a couple of interesting ship reports from just south of that blob of tstms near 10N/39W. Now both ships are in thunderstorms, so this doesn't mean that there actually are west winds due to a LLC, but interesting nonetheless:

Also, there is a 92E on the Invest site at NRL listed under Atlantic. Is that a placeholder for the 40W System, or an error???? Usually E's are for EPAC.

Isn't this on the Southern end of the tropical wave with a center near 17N, 32W? Are we going to see multiple circs around the broad circulation?

It was, but it may be an entity of its own now. 92L still doesn't look quite right...convection growing but still looking a bit limp. Cheers!!

Steve I'm not sure what you mean by limp, but it is looking pretty healthy to me. convection continues to blossom and appears to be trying to wrap the mid-level center. I still don't see any low-level spin yet, but if this trend continues it wouldn't surprise me if it started to show. Appears that this system is trying to start up! As we know it has got to reach the surface, which it hasn't imo, but it sure is trying I think.

For a minute I thought it was dejavu....but....Went to a meeting then came back and boom! I think we may have a TD by the end of the day. This COULD affect Florida and the GOM.

Are you talking about a problem for the Florida Keys?
