TS Fabian is good possiblity since it has alot of room to develop. I wait till it actually develops then to think further than that.

I think it has good possibility of being Fabian, but I have no idea beyond that.

I agree. I voted too prematurely, looking at things being favorable it is hard to think it won't become a hurricane.

Saying or thinking things before you wish to can be annoying; I tend to do so sometimes, while knowing full well that I spoke too soon. Shouldn't be a problem. :)

I voted cat 2 cane---way to early to say though- theres been a lot of upwelling off the Texas Coast. Western Gulf is not the warmest given this season's history/storms.

Cat 3

#7 Postby wxman57 » Wed Aug 20, 2003 9:13 pm

I voted Cat 3, with the assumption that it makes it into the Gulf or the Bahamas. Conditions aloft look very good for development if it can stay over water. Of course, it has to develop into a TD first.

I was voted a Cat 1 hurricane, which means it will probably end of being a cat 3 hurricane:):)

I have to agree with wxman here. Upper level conditions seem very good for a strong hurricane to develop. Only caveat to that... it needs a LLC first :D

I voted cat-3....possibly the first major Atlantic hurricane of the season.

Also voted with CAT3. It will be moving into some very good conditions soon enough if it holds together. I must say it is looking quite ragged tonight though!

It sure does look ragged David...hardly any convection. I can still see some spin though.
I also voted cat.1 earlier on Wednesday.

I vote a cat 2, that is if it develops an LLC soon enough, and the forward speed remains under 20mph, and if it enters the gulf.

Lots of ifs there T & L! LOL!! But they are good ifs and most would need to happen for the system to develop into a hurricane.

possible development

#15 Postby zoeyann » Thu Aug 21, 2003 9:38 am

It does look ragged right now, but could spring to life as it moves west. It seems like everything has been slow to get started this season, and then they spring to life. A CAT 2 would not surprise me. [/img]
