Will We Go Greek?

#1 Postby Evil Jeremy » Thu Oct 28, 2010 9:43 pm

With Shary now official, there are only 4 names left on the season's list, and it seems like Tomas isn't very far off, which would leave 3 names left. Do you think it is possible that we might hit the Greek names for the second time in history?

It's possible but IMO we are not going to reach the greek alphabet I think that the season could enf with the W.

I think we will. The season has had sustained activity for over two straight months, and it hasn't shown any sign of stopping. Assuming we get "T" tomorrow, I think it could pull a 2005 and have decent November/December activity.

What are the three names left after Tomas? All the lists I see have only two names after Tomas, Virginie and Walter.

i don't think we go greek but another storm or 2 is certainly possible, especially in the southwest caribbean. should that happen my pre season guess of 18 storms is destined to be too low...who'd a thunk it... especially with the slow start.

I think we'll get to the W storm and tie 1933 (officially that is...1933 had more then 21 storms by modern standards)

We gotta be careful with the W :grrr:

If you know what I mean.

Will we go greek, perhaps November turns out being the most memorable month this season with this early Septemberish end to October, November might be a monster after all just when we began downplaying the season. My belief.....perhaps Beta ends the season in mid-December and the W storm makes Thanksgiving quite interesting.

I can't see it happening personally.

I think we might get Alpha in mid December.

You're right lol, my bad. So two more named storms would finish the list. I think it is very possible that we get to the Greek letters, but if we do, we won't get very far. All it would take is another set of waves in good conditions, like Shary and 91L.

Very possible considering the existing conditions. My 21/11/6 line is lookin good! Just think of where we would be right now if we wouldn't have had that relentless lull back in july and early august....? Ironic, as strange fate would have it, my forecast would have been too low had it not been for the early season lull.

Just imagine if we started the year strong? We were only up to C on August 20. In most of the other busy years we were much deeper in the alphabet by then...

Ah. Good times. "This season's a bust."

Sadly many will still consider it a normal season since the US didn't have a bad season.

It's very possible now, we only need 3 storms, well 2 storms and then the 3rd one would be greek. I wouldn't be surprised if we got another big hurricane in November in the Caribbean.

I very well think we could go to the greek alphabet. my predictions is 24.14.7. I say about a 15 percent chance of this happening.

Tomas was our Season Finale. A nice dramatic storm that led to many questions on what would happen.

Just bring on 2011 now.
