I don't think it does. Most of his callers are from Colorado (where he is) and Texas (obviously, I hear it). I've heard a few callers from other areas, however. And you don't have to hear it to call him. He'll help anyone he can. And like I said, his troops are there to answer the phones even when he's not on the air.

Bill.....Bill.....Bill.....just got back into town and read of your new challenges!

Please know I'm sending prayers your way. As much as we doubt it, there are reasons "stuff" happens. Looking for a tiny silver lining in this black cloud is easy for ME to say.....but YOU will eventually see it my friend!

I see it already! Take a look at this network of friends right here who are offering you spiritual, mental, and monetary support!! We all know you as a very intelligent, artistic, sometimes sarcastic (!!!), extremely helpful and supportive individual who already has shared with us many details of his life. Including us in these new challenges had to be difficult for you indeed.......but you HAVE taken that step!

There ARE answers and solutions........you're getting some much needed info and support here from others who have been in your shoes.......and some who are thankful for the opportunity to make a difference in your family's life. Take care my friend........Pam

I remember back when my mom received our first eviction notice and for what? No reason (Probably the current manager of the previous apt. complex we once lived in hated us). She was ANGRY and DISPONDENT at the same time, I was just ANGRY, period.

I'm sorry that you & your family had to go through that situation.

UPDATE...We received a letter from the Legal Aid Office; they want a copy of the landlord's lease, and 30 DAYS to examine options...which is 18 days more than we have.

Therefore, we have determined that our sole option is to MOVE... :grrr:

Maybe they could at least write to your landlord and get them to back off. I would furnish a copy of the letter to the landlord with the subtle hint of pending legal action. At this point i can't hurt....

Bill my friend I am so sorry to hear of your situation.

My parents have lost there home, there car and all semblance of human pride, there saving grace has been the grace given to them from the Lord above... The Lord sees your situation too and with prayer even this can be over come. I pray He gives you wisdom, grace and sets some good folks in your path who will help you get out of this.

If I had it Bill you know I would give you all that I had. Finacially we are drowning ourselves (just been asked to cough up $743.00 for an ultrasound .... just not going to happen!)

Take care my friend and find peace and love in our savior :)

Just for the record, I not only sent a copy of the lease, but both affidavits, an estimate from the Orkin man we called, and a copy of RS:MO Chapter 441.234 and 441.060 (3, 4) to the Legal Aid people...maybe they will raise a few questions as we prepare to leave? Oh, yes...we have other copies of all of it.

Amazing, He is about the only thing keeping me standing right now...your prayers are as rare and precious jewels before Him. Money is, after all, man's "treasure"...I pray that I'm storing up TRUE treasure in my true Home, in all due time.

I have faith that you are doing what you can, Bill :) . I know that you have a disability and that the airhead landlord you appear to have should have taken that into account a LOOOOOOOONG time ago. :(

UPDATE: We saw an apartment yesterday that we liked very much, and this morning we called to tell the owner that we wanted it.

During the course of viewing it, though, he pressed us for details as to why we were moving, and we told him about our problem....it seemed to go well, as he and I, along with one of his workmen, talked about bugs and pest control. He'd said that if we moved in, we'd be responsible for controlling the pests (if we inadvertently brought any over with us) and we assured him we would.

This morning, he stopped me short with "Well, I don't know...call me in the morning (tomorrow)." :o

I get this uneasy feeling that no one in town will rent to us...

Ditto, what Marshall said. Now that you are talking with legal aid, perhaps they could get you more time. It sounds like a situation where a good letter from a good lawyer could accomplish something. If moving is inevitable, perhaps you could offer a release from litigation, in exchange for a modest extension of time, at least until your checks can come in. It could work out to the mutual benefit.

And if another prospective landlord asks why you're moving (that is a standard question), I wouldn't get into the bug issue. Mention that the landlord terminated your lease because she has other plans for the property. That's a reasonable and truthful answer without making yourself look bad. I wouldn't say anything bad about your former landlord, because that will make you look like a troublemaker.

Ed - what you said is a very good suggestion. Be brief and don't offer details. Like a job interview - keep it simple - to the point and tell them the reasonable adn truthful answer.

Monies will be sent tomorrow.

Two more "turn-downs"...one due to the reason we are being evicted, the other is firmly opposed to pets. One more to see in an hour....9 days and counting, and we are beginning to "break".

We have to be absolutely candid with the owners...they will find out from the old landlord, anyway.

Well, I just called one of the prospects this morning..."Nah, I don't want to rent that apartment to you...don't want the bugs."

We only have one more place to see, this afternoon.
