Folks,

WREL Online is transferring from Old Betsy to our new 'puter on Wednesday August 20th or Thursday August 21.

Supposedly, down time will be minimal but routers can be slow to repoint to a new server. Most of our s2k hits are to the Model Map page; the page will likely be slow to load or not load during this process. Please hang in there with us...hopefully things go smoothly. If any funky stuff happens during the transfer, I'll let you know.

Thanks,

Scott

update 6pm Tues...all files being copied to new server overnight tonight. Wednesday afternoon they will point our DNS to new server which is a web wide process of ~24 hours. That's when it'll be "slow or no" on finding the site or the map page. I'll try one more map update Tues night with 0Z but that's it until Wednesday night at the earliest.

Scott, thank you for the information and good luck with the transfer.

I enjoy knowing about radio and television stations. One reason why I think letting our local news stations know about Storm2K would be quite exciting.

I may of mentioned this before to you, Scott, my favorite radio station in Boston was (actually still is) WBZ NewsRadio 1030. I have only heard it two or three times in the middle of the night since my move to central Florida from southeastern Massachusetts.

Radio is a screwy business now  :(
I listen to BZ most nights in winter down here. Always loved the staation.
I worked with Deb Lawler (morning drive co-anchor at BZ) up at WIGY in Portland many years ago. Small world.
