Pouch PGI47L emerging from Africa

Convection weak but it has good structure. GFS seems to be hinting lately at more low pressure developing in this area. The CV season may not be over yet.

Vorticity is already looking nice. You can see future lisa very well in this image, as well as the developing test invest infront of it. Very active Atlantic

I believe NOGAPS develops this at about 126 hours. Its NOGAPS, but its a start.

If a moderator doesn't mind changing the name to that I would appreciate it, to avoid confusion. GFS suggests low pressure may keep developing in this area for potentially the next week or so.

Dakar time sections showing a very healthy moisture column - about the best in the last 8 days.

gcane...props on your thoroughgoing analysis...do you have any current numbers on the easterly jet associated with this feature?...also check your pms.....rich

That is a great question. I will try and find some wind vector numbers at 650mb. Also, I responded to your message. That is an interesting line of research to pursue to gain more insight on the development of AEWs.

Pouch 47 is gone from the predict website. It tried to form but it got sucked into the trough to the north as you can see in the loop above.
